New Subject

I am in a rut. I have taken lots of pictures of kids (which are admittedly my favorite subject) but I think it's time to capture some different things. Maybe something will get me motivated again... What are your favorite subjects? What inspires you to get out the camera and capture a moment? I'd love to hear what inspires you...

Oak Creek

The boys went to visit Grandma for a few days, so I took the opportunity to get out and shoot some scenery. I made my way down Oak Creek toward Sedona. Here's a few of my favorite's from the afternoon.

Grand Falls

The Colorado River is running high this time of year. I am so glad we went. Of course I spent several hours taking pictures. Here are a few highlights.

Spring weather

It has been warming up a little at a time. Interspersed with snow storms. It's made for some fantastic clouds and lots of water everywhere. I have been trying to get in a few pictures of it when I can, but I will admit, I have been busy and not making the most of the beautiful conditions out there.

Grand Canyon

We went to the Grand Canyon after a light snow (mostly we had heavy snows this winter) but there was a lot of low clouds blocking the view. I got a few captures but even these had a little bit of wispy clouds in them that don't exactly add to the mood. Let me know if you agree.

Family Saturday

Well, no big plans this weekend so we took the boys for a walk to look for antlers. A regular activity this time of year. We didn't find any but it was a nice day to be out and about.

Tax day

Today was a busy day. I took our taxes in, (YAY!) went to a parent meeting and ran around like a chicken with my head off the rest of the day. But I wanted to post something so here's a few pictures I have been messing with lately. I have recently tried some High Dynamic Range (HDR) which requires up to five exposures which are then melded into one strange looking picture. While not exactly photographically realistic I think they are interesting.
